Connie Stevens has
been in the hunter/jumper world since 1973. After attending school at
Denver University, she made Colorado her first home, running Foxbury Farm,
one of the top show barns in the west. In 1986, she relocated to the Chicago
area.
Over the years, she has become recognized as one of the nation’s
top trainers for the show ring, as well as a “Big R” judge
with assignments nationwide.
As a trainer, Connie brings a judge’s eye to her work, schooling
riders of all ages and abilities at her MatchMaker stable in Chicago’s
northern suburbs. Over the years she has taken riders all the way from
short stirrup through the Medal / Maclay finals. And parents can rely
on her to keep them completely informed of every aspect of their child’s
progress.
In finding a horse for a client, her passion is to first discern the unique
skills, temperament and expectations of the rider, then, through her nationwide
network, find a horse that precisely matches those attributes. And as
the parent of a successful young rider herself, Connie knows that a great
match between horse and rider is not only critical to her client’s
success in the ring,
but to her client’s safety, as well.
Connie can be scheduled for lessons and schooling at shows, and can also
arrange clinics at other facilities.
